SEARCHfilm is the ongoing collaboration between Angela Bedekovic and Matthias Grunsky. Their films begin with curiosity – about human behavior, about perspective, about what goes unnoticed. Working almost entirely as a duo, they make films and art projects with one shared goal: finding a form that fits the subject. Their work has been shown at independent and experimental film festivals; selected projects have received support from Bezirk Oberbayern and the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Familie, Arbeit und Soziales.
ANGELA BEDEKOVIC studied theater studies in Munich, graduating in 2008. Her academic background continues to shape her artistic approach, connecting theatrical forms with filmic expression. She works across film, photography, and music.
MATTHIAS GRUNSKY is a cinematographer and photographer. Alongside his longstanding collaboration with US director Andrew Bujalski, he has worked on independent films, documentaries, and TV productions in the US and Europe.
Since 2019, Bedekovic and Grunsky have explored personal and social themes in their joint work. A core principle is to avoid judgment and to open up a range of perspectives and ways of seeing.
